Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation
Accreditation Assistant
NAEYC is seeking an Accreditation Assistant in the NAEYC Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation’s Administration Department to perform data entry and provide customer service to programs and others throughout the accreditation process. Also responsible for posting and processing accounts receivables, researching and resolving financial issues/discrepancies for programs and customers, reviewing and monitoring accounts and financial records.
AA degree preferred, 2-3 years work-related experience and basic accounting experience required. Candidates must be highly proficient in MS Office and database management, flexible, have the ability to multi-task and prioritize work, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent data entry, customer service and administrative skills. Information Coordinator
NAEYC is seeking an Information Coordinator to work in the Academy's information center (call center) who will serve as the primary customer service liaison to our customers. Primary duties include providing technical assistance to on-site visitors, program staff, facilitation projects, and the general public about our accreditation system via email, phone and correspondence and providing administrative support.
Candidates must have at minimum an AA degree, BA in ECE or related field preferred, knowledge of or experience with NAEYC Accreditation, ECE experience and 1-2 years of customer service experience. Strong computer, database, customer service, oral and written communication skills required. Must be flexible and have the ability to analyze and resolve problems with tact and ensure follow-up. Information Systems Coordinator
NAEYC is seeking an Information Systems Coordinator to coordinate and support the information system application for the NAEYC Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation. Responsibilities include first level of support to end users, reviewing current and future requirements based on user requests, training new users, testing new application modifications and coordinating with IT department to respond user requests. Other duties required are generating standard reports requested by management team. The Coordinator will also work closely with our IT staff.
Candidates must have a B.A., 3-5 years of professional work experience in information management or in a related field or education and training that fulfill the requirements for the position. Demonstrated experience in reviewing and testing of information systems and database applications are required. The ability to prepare and analyze reports is essential. Applicants must have excellent computer skills and experience using Crystal Reports or other report writing tools/programs. Strong, oral and written communications skills are also needed. Experience working in an association or non-profit is a plus. Salary: Mid to high $50’s with excellent benefits.

Records Coordinator

Primary duties include detailed data entry of program records and file maintenance. Conference Program Associate
NAEYC is seeking a Conference Program Associate who will assist with our citywide Annual Conference. Responsibilities include session scheduling, updating proposal/presenter information, generating and creating reports, coordinating the proposal review process, preparing meeting room charts, maintaining/
updating the Conference websites, and using an online proposal database.
BA/BS degree required, the successful candidate will be a team player with interpersonal and organizational skills who has the ability to work under pressure to achieve and produce a seamless event. Meeting Planner
NAEYC is seeking a meeting planning professional to join our outstanding Conference Department. The successful candidate will be the point person for NAEYC’s annual 2000 attendee Professional Development Institute. The position requires a team player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills who has the ability to work under pressure to achieve and produce a seamless event. Experience with catering and audio-visual coordination for multi-hotel meetings is required.
Must be able to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects. BA degree required with 3-5 years of association conference planning experience necessary, CMP is preferred. Editorial Assistant
NAEYC is seeking an entry-level Editorial Assistant to support its book and brochure publishing program.
Duties include assisting the Editor; maintaining records; corresponding with publishers; answering queries from the public; helping manage catalog production; coordinating manuscript reviews; handling permissions; some writing (correspondence, blurbs); proofreading and some light copyediting; and other project work as assigned. A college degree; strong basic editing/writing skills; and administrative skills (Word, Excel, web research, data input) are required. Demonstrated interest in early childhood education is a plus. Interview will include a proofreading/writing test.

Editorial Production--Freelancers
NAEYC is seeking InDesign layout professionals in the Washington DC metro area: We are looking for freelance magazine layout artists to assist in the production of our bimonthly 4-color journal, Young Children and other print and online publications. Candidates must demonstrate significant successful experience doing magazine page layout in InDesign and image adjustment in Photoshop PLUS with knowledge of typography and print production processes. Creative graphic design experience a plus. We are PC-based and need freelancers who are available come to our downtown DC office frequently.

Consulting Director for Institutional Research (Part-Time)
The NAEYC seeks an individual with a strong background in applied research and data analyses and experience with information management systems to join the Association’s management staff as a Consulting Director for Institutional Research. The position will oversee the creation and development of an Office for Institutional Research; coordinate operational data gathering, analyses and reporting functions in support of managerial decision-making; and assist in planning and conducting research studies with an emphasis on the Association’s accreditation program for programs serving young children and their families. The position will also work closely with a team of individuals engaged in the planning and development of an enterprise-wide information management system that is scheduled to be fully implemented within the next 18 months.
The position is a renewable contract, with an initial appointment for up to one year beginning on a half-time basis. Applicants should have a relevant graduate degree and at least 7 years of senior-level experience in areas pertinent to the domains of the position.
