Adele B. Robinson is NAEYC’s Deputy Executive Director, Policy & Public Affairs. She oversees Public Policy, which works to ensure that NAEYC positions are reflected and supported in federal, state and local initiatives and to build public understanding and support of a high-quality, well-financed system of early childhood education for all children. NAEYC is a critical advisor to policy makers and advocates at every level, including Head Start; the Child Care & Development Block Grant; the provisions in No Child Left Behind—particularly regarding literacy and teaching young children; teacher quality and loan forgiveness provisions of the Higher Education Act; and other legislation that relates to the access to and quality of early learning from birth through third grade.
Ms. Robinson is coauthor of Advocates in Action: Making a Difference for Young Children, an advocacy guide used by many colleges in policy course work; and “Risky Credit,” an article on tuition tax credits in the framework of education and tax equity policy published in the Stanford Law & Policy Review; and other articles. She earned her undergraduate degree from Yale University and her law degree from Boston University School of Law. Before working in public policy, Ms. Robinson was an attorney with a law firm in Boston. |
