Documenting Quality: A Teacher's Guide to Creating a Classroom Portfolio
NAEYC has developed a self-paced, online training program to help teachers discover essential best-practices, organization tips, and practical strategies for creating their own classroom portfolios. In this online program, participants will take an in-depth look at classroom portfolios to better understand what they are, how they’re put together, and the benefit they provide to the teachers who create them. Participants will view examples of classroom portfolio evidence and have the opportunity to work with sample documentation through a variety of hands-on learning activities. This course includes exclusive access to a sample portfolio created by NAEYC Academy staff.
Learning Outcomes
By completing this online learning program, teachers will be able to:
- explain the purpose of a classroom portfolio,
- describe the benefits of creating a classroom portfolio, and
- identify strategies for selecting and organizing portfolio evidence.
Who Should Participate
The target audience includes early childhood teaching staff and their administrators, but it is also relevant for anyone involved in documenting young children’s learning experiences including faculty, trainers, consultants, students, and others.
