USDA has eased program requirements in light of the devastation left behind by Hurricane Katrina. Comprehensive set of guidance and waivers designed to allow maximum use of the Child Nutrition Programs to feed children in schools, shelters, child care centers, family child care homes, summer and afterschool programs.

The Administration for Children and Families published a notice that assesses the impacts of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita on Head Start and Early Head Start grantees. It addresses damage to property, and discusses the administrative procedures for reimbursing Head Start and Early Head Start grantees.
