To register to vote in the State of Florida, an individual must meet the following qualifications:
- Be a United States Citizen
- Be 18 years old (you may pre-register if you are 17)
- Be a Florida resident
- Not now be adjudicated mentally incapacitated with respect to voting in Florida or any other state
- Not have been convicted of a felony without civil rights having been restored pursuant to law
- Submit your valid Florida driver's license number or Florida identification card number. If you do not have either of these, you must provide the last four digits of your Social Security number.
Must register to vote at least 29 days before the election.
Can select or change party affiliation up to 29 days before the election.

Can register to vote in person or obtain a mail-in application from:
- County election offices
- Driver's license offices
- The Division of Elections
- Public Assistance offices (Food Stamps, AFDC, WIC, Medicaid)
- Public libraries
Absentee Voting:
A voter, or someone designated by the voter, may request an absentee ballot from the supervisor of elections in person, by mail, by telephone, or by online request form on your Supervisor of Elections' website. One request can cover all elections within a calendar year. The person requesting an absentee ballot must disclose:
- The name of the voter for whom the ballot is requested;
- The voter's address;
- The voter's date of birth;
- The requester's name;
- The requester's address;
- The requester's driver's license number, if available;
- The requester's relationship to the voter; and,
- The requester's signature (written request only).
Marked ballots must be mailed or delivered in person reaching the supervisor of elections' office not later than 7 p.m. on the day of the election.
There is also the option of early voting which is available beginning 15 days before an election in main election and branch offices. Early voting will be conducted at least 8 hours per day on each weekday during the early voting period and will be provided for 8 hours in the aggregate for each weekend during the period. Early voting will continue through the 2nd day before the election.
