Information for Conference Room Reservation

For your next business meeting or event in Washington, DC, consider the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s (NAEYC) facilities in the heart of downtown.  Conveniently located on L Street between 13th and 14th Streets, meeting attendees will be steps away from local transportation, hotels, and restaurants to meet every budget.

Availability/Scheduling

Reservations are available Monday through Friday only, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.  We also provide half day reservations.

Please send reservation and tour requests to Valerie Sheehan via email at vsheehan@naeyc.org.

Step by step reservation process:

  1. Go to Reserve Conference Room.
  2. Fill out required information on form.
    • Write in organization name under "Title".
    • Select date, time, and duration of meeting.
    • Click on "Details" tab to provide contact person information(include first and last name, date requested, phone number, details about the food being served and caterer name).
    • Click on "Create".
  3. Once you’ve submitted your information, reservation confirmation will arrive within 24-48hrs.
  4. Do not consider the conference room reserved until confirmation is received via email.

Rates

Half day (8:00 am-1:00 pm):

Non-Profit (registered with the IRS)  $ 500.00
Others $ 600.00

Full day (8:00 am-6:00 pm):

Non-Profit (registered with the IRS)  $ 850.00
Others $ 1,100.00

Renters must provide certificate of insurance and deposit of 25% upon reservation confirmation.

Cancellation Policy

Reservations may be canceled at no charge 10 business days prior to the event.  Reservations canceled less than 10 business days prior, will be charged the full rental rate.

Different configurations are available upon request.  Auditorium is approximately 1,900 sq. ft.

1NAEYC facilities are ADA compliant.

Logistics and A/V Needs

Rental contract includes:

  1. Large projection TV (55”)
  2. Projection screen (8’)
  3. DVD/VCD/MP3 player
  4. Internet connection
  5. Wireless microphone and speaker system
  6. Easel w/ flip chart and markers
  7. Sign tripods
  8. Additional fee applied for LCD projector

Kitchen/Catering

Rental contract also includes access to our fully equipped kitchen.  Renters are responsible for securing their own catering and kitchen supplies.  NAEYC may provide kitchen supplies for an additional $75.00 per day.  Complimentary coffee and tea are provided.

Inclement Weather Policy

NAEYC follows the federal government’s policies on closing due to inclement weather.  If for any reason the federal government decides to close, NAEYC will too close, and all scheduled events will be canceled.  Any payments made will be refunded.  Meeting attendees will not be allowed in the building.  Information will be given out to any participant calling requesting additional information. If the event the government is delayed for two hours NAEYC officially opens at 10:00 am, and meetings will begin at that time.

From Maryland

Take Baltimore/Washington Parkway S.  Merge onto US-50 W. New York Avenue NE.  (Crossing into District of Columbia.)  Keep RIGHT at the fork to go on New York Ave NE.  New York Ave NE becomes Mt Vernon Place NW.  Mt. Vernon Place becomes Massachusetts Avenue NW.  Turn slight RIGHT onto Thomas Circle NW.  Turn slight RIGHT onto 14th Street NW.  Turn LEFT onto L Street NW.  End at 1313 L Street NW.

From Virginia

Take I-395 N. exit toward Washington (Crossing into the District of Columbia.)  Merge onto US-1 N. Stay STRAIGHT to go onto 14th Street NW.  Turn LEFT onto K Street NW.  Turn RIGHT onto Vermont Avenue NW.  Turn RIGHT onto L Street NW.  End at 1313 L Street NW.

One parking space in the NAEYC building is provided for the duration of your event.
