McREL
(Mid-Continent Research for Education and Learning) and ECS (the Education
Commission of the States) developed “A Policymakers’ Primer on Education
Research: How to Understand, Evaluate, and Use It”
The
National Institute for Literacy (NIFL) supported the development of “Using
Research and Reason in Education” by Paula J. Stanovich and Keith E. Stanovich.

The
U.S. Department of Education also developed a brief booklet intended to provide
backgrounds on scientifically based research for teachers. The report,
