About the TYC Editorial Advisory Panel
TYC Editorial Advisory Panelist members assist the editors of Teaching Young Children in ensuring that the content of this magazine for preschool educators is practical, research-based, and relevant to the interests and needs of its readers. They are appointed by the NAEYC Governing Board for three-year terms.
Panelists recommend topics and potential authors, provide feedback on Teaching Young Children and its corresponding Web site, participate in reader discussions, and review, test, and provide suggestions for improvement of NEXT: The Teaching Young Children Staff Development Guide. The editors of Teaching Young Children communicate with panelists primarily through e-mail, so panelists are required to have a working e-mail address and to respond to e-mails in a timely fashion.
This position is open to any NAEYC member who submits an application. Applications are evaluated for expertise and relevant experience. Preschool teachers are encouraged to apply. Applications are reviewed by Derry Koralek, Editor-in-Chief, Periodicals and Related Resources, the Teaching Young Children editorial team, and by members of the NAEYC Executive Staff.
Term of Service
Panelists serve a three-year term beginning September 1, 2012. The position is renewable in some cases with reapplication.
