Crystal has volunteered in leadership roles for Iowa AEYC in a variety of positions including governing board service. These many years of experience combined with more than 35 years in early care and education continue to increase her commitment to the integrity, growth, inclusivity and responsiveness of and for the early childhood profession.  

Having studied child development and social work, Crystal has center experience, owned a home-based program, presented adult education to professionals and parents, coordinated many community and statewide initiatives and for the past 15 years, has worked for Des Moines Public Schools Preschool Programs as a Family Engagement Facilitator.  

It will be a privilege to participate in the responsive work of NAEYC, supporting our membership as it increases its reach and service to early care and education professionals and to the children, families and communities they serve. Developing enhanced leadership awareness and pathways within our membership is a challenge I look forward to collaborating with others successfully.
