Her passion lies within the family child care community and has tasked herself in developing innovative ways to create spaces for family child care providers where they are valued and recognized for their strengths. As a newly elected member of NAEYC’s Affiliate Advisory Council, Lucero is committed to help create a transformative learning environment, where each member is an active agent of change and holder of knowledge, and whose lived experiences represent those whose voices have been historically marginalized within decision-making circles that are essential to our collective purpose -- to identify and develop strong, inclusive leadership.
Lucero was born in Puerto Rico and migrated to California at a young age. She shares her time between Southern and Northern California, is the proud mother of two biracial and bicultural adult sons, enjoys local beaches, practicing yoga, drinking coffee and visiting local farmers' markets.
