Member Spotlight: Andy Whitney

Andy Whitney became a member of NAEYC in 2009. He is currently the head of school at the Early Childhood Learning Center, in Seoul, South Korea. Over the past eight years, Andy has hired and trained high-quality faculty who have a solid understanding of developmentally appropriate practice and infuse that understanding into the classroom. Andy presented at the East Asia Council of Overseas Schools (EARCOS) leadership conference in October 2016. In the spring of 2016, he oversaw the construction of a new child-centered facility in Seoul. In another life, Andy would have liked to have been a blues guitar player—his guitar playing is now mostly restricted to audiences of 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds.
