Young Children and Nature

Mission Statement

The mission of the Young Children and Nature Interest Forum is to increase the opportunities for early childhood educators and other adults to create and nurture children’s connections to the natural world, and to support and reinforce efforts to connect young children and nature among those who work with young children, through providing resources, sharing best practices, research, funding, and professional development opportunities.

Project Approach Interest Forum

Mission Statement

The mission of the Project Approach Interest Forum is to create a network of practitioners who learn from and support one another to encourage deep investigations and engaged learning by children. The Forum will provide an opportunity to discuss questions that arise during projects. It will also provide an opportunity to connect with others focusing on teacher development, research, and publications regarding project work. The forum will increase the visibility of the Project Approach as a developmentally appropriate approach to early childhood curriculum, elevating the vision and strategic direction of NAEYC and encouraging developmentally appropriate practice regarding curriculum experiences.
