Yohana Quiroz
Yohana Quiroz serves as the chief operations officer at Felton Institute, a nonprofit agency in San Francisco, California. She is responsible for leading the Children, Youth, Family, and Transitional Age Youth Division, which includes early care and education, early intervention and inclusion, behavioral/mental health, and family support services. The agency serves 800 clients, with a staff of 155 and a budget of $10 million in local, state, federal, and private funding. In addition to her work with Felton Institute, Yohana is an adjunct professor in the Child and Adolescent Development Department at San Francisco State University.
Yohana is an accomplished practitioner, educator, and community leader with more than two decades of experience in the early care and education field. She has devoted her career to issues affecting young children and youth, including pregnant and parenting teens, children with special needs, and underserved populations. Her firsthand knowledge as a parent and of the issues impacting these services has instilled in her a passion for equity, social justice, coalition building, advocacy, and systems change.
Yohana is involved in several committees influencing decisions on policies, investments, and workforce initiatives in the early childhood field. For the last two years, she has been the chair of the San Francisco Office of Early Care and Education’s Citizens Advisory Committee.
Yohana holds a BA in child and adolescent development and an MA in organization and leadership in education, and she is currently a doctoral student in San Francisco State University’s educational leadership program. She lives with her husband and two daughters in the Bay Area.
