Nancy Yee is a passionate educational leader with a strong desire to make a lasting impact in the field of education. She is currently attending Harvard University's Graduate School of Education, where she will leverage her experiences in instruction, governance, and school improvement towards research, policy, and leadership. As a Boston Public Schools teacher and 1st generation Asian American, Nancy has dedicated her career to promoting racial equity and inclusion in education, with a particular focus on addressing the needs of English Learners.
She has developed a strong understanding of the complexities of educational policy and the importance of effective stakeholder engagement. Nancy continues to serve as an elected member of her School Site Council and Boston Teachers Union. Her 8+ years as a Language Assessment Team Facilitator for over 400 English Learners have also given her a working knowledge of federal, state, and district policies governing services for ELs. She is an at-large board member of MaAEYC and an executive board member of the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA).
Nancy is confident that her future work will involve advocating for policies that benefit students and educators, advancing racial equity and inclusion, and promoting innovative approaches to education. She is committed to using her knowledge and skills to positively impact the lives of students and educators, both locally and globally.
