Biography
Traki L. Taylor, Ph.D. is Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the State University System of Florida. In this role, she provides direction and manages the work of the academic affairs unit, including new program approval, review of existing programs, and the development and implementation of Board regulations and policies regarding academic affairs. Dr. Taylor is an experienced academic administrator. Most recently, she was the Dean of the College of Education at Florida A & M University. Between 2008 and 2016, Dr. Taylor was the Dean of the College of Education at Bowie State University in Maryland and a tenured Professor of Education. She was also a tenured associate professor at the University of Michigan-Flint, where she served in positions of increasing responsibility between 1998 and 2008, progressing from faculty to Director of Diversity Projects to Associate Chair to Associate Dean of the School of Education and Human Services. She has taught both undergraduate and graduate level courses and has teaching experience at both high school and middle school levels. She earned her Ph.D. and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in the Department of Educational Policy Studies, and her Bachelor of Science degree in the Department of Special Education at Coppin State College in Baltimore, Maryland.
