Through his service on the NAEYC Affiliate Advisory Council, Dr. Eric Bucher is committed to collaboratively developing strong Affiliate leadership, addressing inequities in early childhood leadership, dismantling inequitable systems, and rebuilding new systems focused on anti-racism that elevate the voices of underrepresented early childhood professionals.
Eric works to advance equity and elevate the voices of educators as the executive director of the Arizona Association for the Education of Young Children (AzAEYC). Eric also supports a preschool and before/after school program at a local school district in Phoenix, Arizona. Eric is a first generation college graduate and holds a Doctorate of Education in Leadership & Innovation from Arizona State University. His research focused on early childhood professional development and early childhood Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). Eric is the co-author of "Beyond Bouncing the Ball: Toddlers and Teachers Investigate Physics" and " Infant and Toddler STEAM: Supporting Interdisciplinary Experiences with Our Youngest Learners" both published in NAEYC's Young Children. Eric is an avid hiker, baker, and video gamer.
