Zaina Cahill, Pre-K Regional Instructional Specialist (Philadelphia, PA) is an NYU (B.S.Ed, Cum Laude) and Walden University (M.S.Ed, Magna Cum Laude) graduate. Since 2005, she’s worked in numerous roles in the field of Early Childhood Education, including as a substitute, assistant, lead, & special education teacher, administrator, coach, and adjunct faculty with pre- and currently serving teachers. Zaina holds ECE teaching certification, is authorized to offer Professional Development in PA, and is a certified PreK CLASS observer. She has presented and spoken at events and conferences at the city, state, and national levels. She is a member of NAEYC/ PennAEYC, the NAEYC Affiliate Advisory Council, the PennAEYC Public Policy Committee, Exchange Leadership Institute, Becker’s Advisory Council, and the Philadelphia Race Matters & Cultural Competency Learning Circle. In 2016, she was honored at the White House Teacher of the Year event, and in years since she has offered congressional testimony, advocating for child care policy change, on multiple occasions. Zaina has made written contributions to the Exchange, Becker’s, and NAEYC blogs, and TYC.
